Alexandria Market Square Dance For Hurricane Relief

Event Details

The music and dance traditions we so dearly love are rooted in Appalachia. Our hearts are heavy seeing the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene to areas so many friends call home. We are responding the only way we know how – by highlighting the arts and culture of the area to raise awareness and money to help in their time of need.

Come out this Friday evening, October 18 from 5-7:30 pm in the Market Square of Alexandria for an all-ages, family friendly square and circle dance. This dance is organized by a group of young Alexandrians who have connections with western North Carolina, where they learned traditional Appalachian Big Circle dances. There is no admission fee, but we hope attendees donate to the American Red Cross.
