Folklife Festival Community Square Dance

Event Details

This year’s Smithsonian Folklife Festival on the National Mall features the music and culture of the Ozarks, and is going to be chock-full of square dancing and other awesome old-time events! We have been helping the Smithsonian put together a schedule of events, including two FREE square, calling and dance workshops, old-time jams, and performances by world-class musicians from the Ozarks and beyond.

The second dance will be on Saturday July 8, from 8:30-10:00 pm. Bob Zuellig will be calling the dances, doing his best to turn the National Mall into the Ozarks on a summer’s evening. Music will be provided by Missouri-based musicians David Scrivner, Nathan McAlister, and David Cavins. The dance will be at the Rinzler Stage, near the Smithsonian metro station on 12th Street.
